Alocasia Frydek

Alocasia Micholitziana Frydek aka Green Velvet Alocasia is a mid-sized Aroid from the Araceae family. The Frydek can get up to 50cm tall with large, heart-shaped, velvety foliage.  

How to look after your Alocasia Frydek

1. Lighting: Provide bright, indirect light for your Alocasia Frydek. While it enjoys bright conditions, direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. Place it near a window with filtered light or amongst/under bigger houseplants to give scattered bright light.

2. Temperature: Alocasia Frydek thrives in warm temperatures between 18-29°C.

3. Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water your Alocasia Frydek when the top 1-2cm of the soil feels slightly dry. Ensure proper drainage and avoid leaving the plant in standing water to prevent root rot.

4. Soil and Fertilizer: Plant your Alocasia Frydek in well-draining soil that retains moisture. Peat moss, perlite, and regular potting soil work well. Fertilize every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer, following the bottle instructions for dilution.e

5. Toxicity: If ingested, Alocasia Frydek is toxic to pets and humans. Keep it out of reach of curious animals and children.
